The advantages and properties of the aluminum-titanium-silicon-nitrite coating (AlTiSiN coating):

 

Aluminum-titanium-silicon-nitrite (AlTiSiN) is a combination of aluminum, titanium, silicon,and nitrogen.

This coating is intended for use when machining hard to very hard materials and therefore for high machining temperatures.

The AlTiSiN coating enables hardened, alloyed steels and cast iron to be machined.

Another feature of this coating is that it is suitable for dry and wet machining and therefore the use of cooling lubricant is not absolutely necessary. However, the use of coolant generally increases the service life of the milling cutter.
